X316 Programmable Logic Controllers 66 Hours, 2 Credits

The course begins with an introduction to digital electronics including numbering systems, gate logic and combinational logic then continuing with applications of digital electronics including encoders, decoders, flip-flops and counters.

The course continues with programming, hook-up and troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Specific training on ladder logic diagrams, input/output instructions, internal relays, timers, counters, compare and math functions, control instructions, sequencers, retrofitting, and program design using the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1000 PLC and Rockwell Software RSLogix 500 Programming Software.
