
SHCN 222 Ship Construction II | 38 Hours 3.5 Credits - Provides apprentices with an understanding of the typical propulsion plants and their associated components used in today’s Navy. Includes the operation and major components of a ship’s basic propulsion drive train including: resistances, a conventional steam cycle propulsion system, a pressurized water reactor propulsion system, a gas turbine propulsion system and a basic internal combustion propulsion system. Included are the scientific laws and principles involved.
